Dr. Ahmad Mugbil
Assistant Professor of Mathematics

Biography:
Dr. Ahmad Mugbil is an assistant professor of Mathematics in the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Department at Al Yamamah University - AlKhobar.
He holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in applied Mathematics from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia. Also, he has a B.Ed. in Mathematics Education from Thamar University, Yemen, along with a Teaching Diploma.
Dr. Mugbil served as an assistant professor of mathematics at KFUPM from 2016 to 2025. He has proven excellence in teaching at KFUPM with consistently high teaching evaluations and received the Award of Excellence in Teaching (2021–2022).
He has extensive experience teaching mathematics at various levels, including high school, preparatory, and undergraduate courses. He is a highly motivated and dedicated mathematician with over 20 years of experience in academic mathematical education and research. He possesses a strong passion for education and a proven track record of success in preparing students for advanced study and careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Dr. Mugbil is an active learning educator implementing inquiry-based learning and flipped classroom strategies. He is an educational content creator who has authored popular interactive lecture notes in Precalculus and Calculus courses. Moreover, he is a video resource publisher who created a popular YouTube channel for math lectures. His lecture notes and recordings are widely utilized by preparatory and undergraduate students.
He is passionate about Continuous Improvement, Sharing Knowledge, and Collaboration. He delivered 7 academic seminars/workshops and participated in over 135 development events hosted by the KFUPM Deanship of Academic Development. He has attended 90 hours of in-person certified short courses on Python Programming, Data Science, and Machine Learning of the AI Skill Up Program at KFUPM, 2025.
Beyond teaching, Dr. Mugbil has chaired the Math Prep Year Program Committee for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation (NCAAA) and has actively contributed to curriculum development and assessment. He has a solid foundation in educational technology and implementing different pedagogies.
He is an accomplished researcher authored and co-authored numerous publications in ISI journals and international conferences. His primary research areas focus on applied Mathematics, with a particular focus on asymptotic, nonexistence, and long-term behaviors of solutions of ordinary and partial fractional differential and integro-differential systems. Also, he worked as a manager and co-investigator for several research projects.
