Dr. Bashair AlThani

Dean of Admissions, Registration and Student Affairs

Biography:

Dr. Bashair Althani is the Dean of Admissions, Registration and Student Affairs and an Assistant Professor of Software Engineering at the College of Engineering and Architecture, Al-Yamamah University Al Khobar Campus.

Before joining YU, Dr. Althani worked in several positions starting with Head of R&D Unit, Head of Curriculum Unit, Head of Management Department, Head of MIS Department and Lastly Vice Dean of Academic Affairs at the College of Business Administration, Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University.

Dr. Althani received a Ph.D. in Software Engineering from Kingston University London in the United Kingdom in 2019. Her Ph.D. thesis on “A quality assured framework for the migration and modernisation of legacy systems”.

In 2014, she received her MSc in Software Engineering from Kingston University London in the United Kingdom with distinction, and in 2011, she received her BSc in MIS from University of Dammam.

In terms of research, Dr. Althani is an active researcher who has recently published articles in ISI and Scopus-indexed journals as well as peer-reviewed conferences. She is also an active reviewer and article editor for reputable journals.
