Dr. Hussein Al Bazar

Associate Professor of Computer Networks

Biography:

Dr. Hussein Al Bazar is an Associate Professor at the Computer Engineering Department, College of Engineering and Architecture, Al-Yamamah University (YU), Khobar. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Networks, Security, and Monitoring from Universiti Sains Malaysia, where his research developed innovative methods for monitoring and securing digital communication systems.

His academic and research interests include network security, monitoring, cryptography, IoT, and smart systems, with a strong focus on applying machine learning and intelligent technologies to enhance digital security. Over the course of his career, Dr. Al Bazar has published extensively in international journals and conferences, contributing to fields such as phishing detection, malware analysis, adaptive authentication, IoT-based solutions, and blended learning systems. His research reflects a strong integration of machine learning and emerging technologies with traditional security paradigms, bridging theory and practice in protecting modern digital infrastructures.

In addition to classroom teaching, he has served as Head of the Network and Security Track and Cisco Networking Academy Coordinator, contributing to curriculum design and program development. He has supervised numerous undergraduate projects and guided students in applying theoretical knowledge to practical and industry-oriented solutions.

Dr. Al Bazar has a long record of academic service and leadership in higher education. He has served as Head of the Network and Security Track and Cisco Networking Academy Coordinator at the Arab Open University, as well as Head of the  Information Systems Security Undergraduate Project Track at Al Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University.

He has also been an active member of several university and faculty committees, including those focused on academic advising, extracurricular activities, equivalency, and undergraduate project supervision. In addition, Dr. Al Bazar has extensive experience as a reviewer for international journals and conferences, supporting the advancement of research in computer networks, security, and smart systems.
