Dr. Ishtiaq Bajwa

Assistant Professor of Finance

Biography:

Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmad Bajwa is a distinguished finance professional and an accomplished expert in central banking. With a career spanning over two decades, Dr. Ishtiaq has a significant involvement in the fields of finance and exchange rate management.

Dr. Ishtiaq obtained his Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Aix-Marseille France, where he exhibited exceptional academic prowess and a keen interest in exchange rate mechanisms. During his doctoral studies, he focused on understanding the intervention mechanism of central banks and its role in shaping the exchange rate policy framework.

Following the completion of his doctorate, Dr. Ishtiaq embarked on an academic journey as an Assistant Professor of finance at various reputable universities. He dedicated a decade to the College of Business at Imam Abdurrahman Bin Faisal University, KSA, where he held a prominent position within the Department of Banking and Finance. Before joining Al Yamamah he served as a cluster head of the Accounting and Finance department at the School of Business, Beaconhouse National University Lahore, Pakistan.

Over the years, he has mentored and inspired numerous students, nurturing their understanding of finance theories and practices. His dedication to teaching and research has earned him several accolades and honors within the academic community.

Dr. Ishtiaq has been actively involved in various academic committees and boards, contributing his expertise to shape institutional policies and procedures. His insights and dedication to academic excellence have been instrumental in the enhancement of academic standards and student outcomes.

Before joining his academic endeavors, Dr. Ishtiaq delved into the practical world of central banking. He joined the central bank of his country, where he worked in Key departments engaged in formulating and implementing the exchange rate, monetary and economic policies.

Beyond his scholarly endeavors, Dr. Ishtiaq is committed to community engagement and financial literacy. He frequently volunteers his time to conduct financial education workshops and seminars, aiming to empower individuals with the knowledge needed to make informed financial decisions.
