Al Yamamah University (YU) was established in May 2001 as a single college by Alkhudair Group as a single college at a total cost of 300 million Saudi Riyals (approximately $80 million). This marked their second major contribution to education in Saudi Arabia, having pioneered the establishment of the first private schools in Riyadh in 1957. In addition, YU is officially licensed by the Ministry of Education of Saudi Arabia. Authorized as an institution of higher learning by the Ministry of Higher Education, Al Yamamah College opened its doors to male students in September 2004 and to female students in September 2006. In 2008, the late Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, issued a royal decree approving the promotion of Al Yamamah College to university status, the culmination of eight years of planning and hard work to establish a distinctive and modern Saudi educational institution that provides both undergraduate and postgraduate education. Since its inception. Al Yamamah University has established itself at the forefront of the competition among private higher education institutions in the Kingdom using English as a medium for instruction.
Al Yamamah, Al Khobar Campus, was envisioned by the founding members in 2022, as a new modern 21st century university branch in the Eastern Province (Al Khobar) that provides a specific academic institution with a distinctive learning style aligned with a global vision. It is a pioneer in academia, scientific research, and the arts in the KSA and the GCC region.
Al Yamamah (YU) Al Khobar Campus would start offering foundation and undergraduate degrees in Business administration majors (Finance, Accounting, Management Information System, Marketing, and Management). YU started a long-term partnership with the US-based INTERLINK International Institutes to provide the English language preparation program for Al Yamamah students. Following the project-based, student-centered approach and with highly qualified teaching staff, INTERLINK International Institutes have been providing the Orientation English language program since 2004 to equip students with the English language and other academic skills they need to accomplish the academic context at YU and beyond.
Your life as a YU student, staff, and faculty member will be full of opportunities to meet new people and challenge yourself with new activities. We work hard to create an attractive environment where you can excel academically and at the same time enjoy a work/ life balance.
